Build your sketchbook skills – explore different ways to use a sketchbook: to keep visual notes, try out new marks & materials and keep observational drawings. These sessions aim to be fun and accessible and to make something beautiful in your own particular sketchbook style.
We will think of our sketchbooks as portable mini studios. They are vibrant spaces to test processes, collect things that catch our eye and reflect on the art we make and see. Alison will show how to keep a sketchbook as an integral and dynamic part of a studio practice. We will also be making experimental books alongside working in a range of media. We will look at a range historical and contemporary sketchbooks to demonstrate the exciting possibilities of this loved form. Alison is also running separate outdoor ‘En Plein Air’ drawing session locally that will complement this course.
Bookable as a one or two day course. All materials and one A5 sketchbook included in the cost
Please get in contact with Alison for the full course details or to discuss booking.
